 Dr. E. Keith Stotts
President
Ohio Valley University
Dr. E. Keith Stotts began his tenure with Ohio Valley University in January, 1977, as president. On June 6, 1998, after 21 ½ years as President, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved Keith's appointment as OVU's first Chancellor. As Chancellor, he dedicated himself solely to the demands of fund raising and estate planning. In April of 2009, Dr. Stotts returned to the presidency at Ohio Valley University.
Before becoming president of OVU Dr. Stotts served as minister of two congregations of the church of Christ - Ashtabula, OH (7 years); Northland in Columbus, OH (8 years). He served as administrator of Mid-Western Children's Home for 51/2 years.
President Stotts graduated from Harding University in 1955 with a B.A. in Bible and Biblical Languages; he then attended Harding Graduate School and earned his M.A. in Old Testament in 1956. He has done post-graduate work in psychology at the Lutheran theological Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He has been awarded three honorary doctorate degrees.
He is a past member of the Parkersburg Rotary club. He is a past member of the board of directors and past Chairman of the Board of the Greater Parkersburg Chamber of Commerce. He is a past president of the West Virginia Association of College and University Presidents and is a past member of the Foundation for Independent Colleges and served on the executive committee of that foundation.
He and his wife Joan (Pronounced Jo-Ann) are natives of Noble County, Ohio. They have two sons: Clint and Shane. Clint, a graduate of OVU, Harding University and Ball State University, lives in Denver, Colorado, and is Director of Learning Resources for Trane. Clint and his wife, Julie, have two daughters Kaley - 10 and Rachel - 7. Shane is a graduate of OVU and Oklahoma Christian University and the Logan College of Chiropractic Medicine, St Louis, Missouri. Shane and his wife, Tracie, have one son Aidan - 8 and one daughter Paige - 6.
