Circle of Vision Scholarship Program
West Virginia Independent Colleges & Universities, Inc. created the Circle of Vision Scholarship Program in 1996. Since the program's first year in 1997, 2,237 named scholarships totaling over $2.7 million have been awarded to deserving West Virginia students. More than 76 percent of the students receiving these scholarships graduate, compared to 61 percent at our private colleges, and 41 percent at West Virginia's public colleges and universities.
Scholarships are named for donors contributing at least $10,000, providing a minimum of one $1,000 scholarship to student recipients at each of our nine member institutions. Scholarships may be designated for specific purposes by the donor; however, all recipients must be West Virginia residents demonstrating financial need and academic promise.
WVICU gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the 2007 Circle of Vision Scholarship Program from the donors listed below:

"As a West Virginia native, I have tremendous love for my state and its citizens, yet I know first hand that challenges that we face. West Virginia parents dream that their children will have the opportunity of a college education that will lead to a better job and lifestyle. The Circle of Vision Scholarship Program is one of the best tools available to help these dreams become reality. I'm so thankful that the Bernard McDonough Foundation is able to play a role in providing access to a college education for our West Virginia students, many of whom are first generation college attendees. I personally know of no better investment in the future of our state."

"The foundation for our future is being constructed now at West Virginia's colleges and universities. Our independent colleges and universities offer unique environments and programs to educate the young people who will soon be leading us in government, business and industry. We are proud to be a supporter of WVICU's Circle of Vision. It is truly a highlight of my life to receive the cards and letters of thanks from scholarship recipients. Each is thankful to be getting an education made possible through the Circle of Vision. If you're not sure your philanthropy is helpful and appreciated, the Circle of Vision is where you need to be."
